Last Exit video @JokerJokerTV this Thursday....

 https://www.youtube.com/live/c5g91jZ8xBQ.    6:30 PM EST USA - 11:30H EU

In the anti-war and vacation culture video Last Exit, the bleak, worker’s noir, 1945 Club Paradise film, released the same year Nagasaki/ Hiroshima was bombed and Hitler died, is re-mixed with poetry dialogue to become a romantic vacation advertisement that comments on perception, storytelling and propaganda. From the larger multimedia project Club Paradise: vacation culture, consciousness and capitalism and the selling of holiday 2019. Marketed vacation migration is compared to early nomadic tribes led by their shaman on the tracks of game. Only now the game pursued is a state of mind to produce a worker’s consciousness tolerant of capitalist slavery. With Jeff Crouch music.

ah yes, Raytheon....

It's the last exit

meet me there

we have all night

under the moon

don't go too far

you'll pass the bar

I'll wait

by the gate

don't be late

I hate

to be alone

on a night like this

senses awake

skin tight sunburn

first day in the sea

I slept under a tree

until three

and swam again

what a memory.

Let's stay up all night

sleep until noon

the sea meets the sky

you can't tell where

the night meets eternity

you can't tell when

we'll be here again

on vacation

with friends

dancing

under the stars

swimming in the sun

having fun

feeling groovy

happy in love

moon up above

nothing to do

but sit and share with you

an incredible view

(sit and stare at you)

what a souvenir

our reverie

time free.

Memories live

someday we'll die

tonight is forever

a dream,

don't pass it,

at the last exit....

Club Paradise.

From Texas artist Jeff Crouch...part1...

...we have been working on things together since 2006 - or earlier...  no, we have never met in person. He sends poetry, music and images, many ideas... so being Easter and all, a very colourful day in the world of solar consciousness and Jeffs's images like psychedelic easter eggs...I figured we'd start this holiday with Jeff's work - with SideShow Kids. From ShadowMaster 2009 series, 'on the road with performers of an American traveling medicine show.' Adapted from Jeff's poem 'Sideshow Kids.' I used a lot of his images in vids, animations, as well as mail art - well, it's all mail art with our work.

Traveling medicine shows (late 1800's-early1900's) were part freak show, circus, runaways, ex-cons, snake oil elixir pitches, and hustlers, with roots in comedia d'el arte. Sometimes someone might read Shakespeare, or sing. Maybe.

Following are some recent images but I'll be pulling up waaaay more in the weeks, maybe they were used in animation or collaborations... but they are all over my black hole computer - insanity my office skills.

Cold Mountain Moon

Cold Mountain video series contemplates human relationships with the natural environment. The title, Cold Mountain, is attributed to a legendary Tang era (618–907) recluse’s poetry. Two crazy hermits giggling and pointing at the moon are repeated in Asian painting, referring to the Daoist sage-hobo poet, Han Shan, and his friend, Shide, living in nature. Poet Gary Snyder’s 1950’s translations of selected Cold Mountain poems, and characterisation of the hermit, are depicted in Jack Kerouac’s 1958 novel, The Dharma Bums.

Last Exit video with Jeff Crouch...

Mail collaboration with Jeff from our large project Club Paradise ceceliachapman.com. With images from the 1949 movie Club Paradise, remixed with poetry dialogue, the original, extremely bleak, noir movie becomes a romantic advertisement for Club Paradise. (The original film begins and ends with gunshot, Julie murdering her cheating man. Originally named The Sensation Hunters, the 1945 Club Paradise was released the same year the US bombed Hiroshima.)

citadel 43

citadel 42

David Stone sent me his poems Citadel 42 and Citadel 43.
An hour later, by chance, I was passing Montana Street.
I liked the poems, and decided to add photographs to them.
So, David, if you see them here, I hope you enjoy them.
And I sent them back to you like this. Thank you.
