A surreal fairytale and fable series based on Galician and Western European folktales transmitted orally through millennium. The original, disturbing folktales were re-written as dream-like fairytales with happy endings in the 17th century. Themes of truth prevailing, generosity rewarded, obstacles overcome, and love and kindness winning over evil appealed to later audiences. Despite this, the dark and violent, neolithic folklore of survival continues to influence culture to today. I decided to write my own tales. Project in process in film, postcard, book.

On the occasion of the M.A.D. Mail Art Day 2024 project, two events will be held at MAM Museum of Modern Art and Mail Art in Montecarotto (AN) and at Musinf Museum of Information in Senigallia, curated respectively by Ruggero Maggi and Stefano Schiavoni.
The M.A.D. Mail Art Day project | October 16 | International Mail Art Day was launched at the end of 2022 by Ruggero Maggi to remember Ray Johnson, born on October 16 and defined as “the most famous unknown artist in New York”. By founding the New York Correspondence School in 1962, with which he mocked the various correspondence art schools that were springing up in the US at the time, he marked with this explosive initial moment, the Big Bang of Mail Art.

UTSANGA Visual poetry and mail art have always been inseparable companions on the road. Poetry: food of life… poetic chrysalis of mail art, exercise of creative freedom and restlessness of the soul with which to plough through the entire world. This mail art project curated by Francesco Aprile, Vincenzo Lagalla and Ruggero Maggi wants to celebrate 10 years of work and research by Utsanga, through some exhibition moments in different locations, with the participation of hundreds of international artists. Utsanga.it is an online magazine about liminal analysis. The term “utsanga” is a Sanskrit word that meaning “womb, embrace”. The magazine was founded by Francesco Aprile and Cristiano Caggiula in 2014. Border that preludes the beyond, line that expands becoming a conceptual laboratory, a research center, an archive.

A nonstop circus side show littered with big titted half-wits pandering to dopey dicks as the theater of the ridiculous plays 24 hours a day…in perfect rotation, a pathetic ploy that pulls the brain dead public into spying on somebody else’s petty life…so that they can forget just how much they are being spied on and manipulated into becoming a victim of the surveillance state, a pawn in the game who willingly gives up their own privacy in order to play patsy on a public platform modeling their dirty laundry in an unending series of senseless selfies, while prattling off and babbling on about every petty detail of their self-obsessed existence thereby making it easier for Big Brother to track their every waking moment.

Wolf Queen 2022 tells the first century legend of Queen Lupa. It was her territory, where the body of St. James was carried 'in a stone boat drifting from the Mediterranean' to be buried by his disciples. A crazy story on both sides, Queen Lupa outwitted Romans, Visigoths, Catholic Church, local rulers, Muslim conquerers, and Spanish empire to remain unconquered. An 11th century monk writes about her in his travel book written for the Pope on the pilgrimage path to St. James' burial site in Santiago Cathedral. The monk tries to erase, propagandise and slander Queen Lupa at the same time. Meanwhile the Church was creating St. James patron of the crusades. Portuguese singer Tamara Pereira. Planet of Dreams
Red Hood is from MauMau Blood Dreams 2024, a film and print series. I became aware of the fairytales and fables that originated in Galicia's north Portugal while researching the 2022 Wolf Queen film. The Neolithic tales morphed through millennium, revealing dark truths about our nature. Today these stories are the narrative of film, fiction, and visual arts. Two super early vids....WhisperWish from Signs, Wishes and Wonders 2008 with Grat Bodkin music. The Merry Go Round animals and ride was newly renovated, re-finished re-painted by San Francisco artists and art commission as I understand ...I can't stress how impossible to find such a beautiful ride anywhere in the US as this, even in Disneyland where artisans are paid well. This was a work of love and I stood in wonder at the detail like the hippo on the zebra saddle and the carving ....incredible.
And Rogue Con from Mr. E. 2008 with Christa Hunter performer and Jeff Crouch music. I am often intrigued by noir newspaper crime articles...mostly by women thieves and con artists and use their tale. Especially the ones who succeed eluding capture.

Co-opting the Folk /Fairy tales format, not pleasant narrative often, not myth or legend, meant to entertain. Time-twisted tales of things people used to have to know to survive, metaphysical truths, long-lost, twisted reasons for natural phenomenon. There is dismemberment, enchanted animals, incest, shapeshifters, treasures, singing monsters, murder, beautiful women, abandoned children if they survived evil things. Some heroes....not-named-yet tales.....
